Alexander Pries
With 20 years of experience in managing strategy, complex new development programs and organizational change in the rail and aerospace sector, I am a coach and advisor for established organizations, start-ups and individuals in the technology and mobility sector.
I believe that in every risk there is an opportunity and have helped companies to implement risk management frameworks and supported them to significantly lowering their risk exposure of projects in crisis mode.
Having worked in Europe, North America, China and India, I am aware and know how to navigate cultural differences so that you can create effective geographically distributed (virtual) teams. Having worked many years in complex project environments, I help you enable your organization to make progress in environments which are characterized by high degree of uncertainty.
I am passionate about developing innovative products, people and organizations, and continue to develop and improve approaches to successfully deliver change. Especially on integrating ever-faster technological change into products designed for long life cycles.
I am educating MBA students on Project Engineering Management, and on Innovation- and Technology Management ; and teach how to navigate the ongoing Digitization/Digitalisation of our work and society.

Type of coaching and description
“If I had an hour to solve a problem I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and five minutes thinking about solutions.” is a famous quote from Einstein – and it describes my coaching approach. First, we will explore what you are really solving for and therefore making sure to go deep to the cause instead of only treating the symptoms.
I work mostly One-on-One. But also deliver team workshops and team session – in person or via video call (remote).

I work mostly with Executives, Team Leads or Program Leads of technology companies who seek to get support in either reducings risk exposure or to unlock innovation potential in their organizations.
I am also working with Engineering leaders, to prepare them for a new mandate or management position and help them navigate the transition successfully.
